Luca Santagata

Network Science PhD Student

Luca (he/him) is a PhD student supervised by Professor Alessandro Vespignani, passionate about understanding how epidemics spread through the ways people move, travel, and connect across the world, and about how artificial intelligence can be used to model and anticipate these dynamics. Before joining the Network Science Institute, Luca earned a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Trento, spending one semester in Finland at Aalto University and another in South Korea at KAIST.

His motto is: “I have no special talents, I am only passionately curious", and outside academia, his greatest passions are art history, memes, and discovering new cultures around the globe!
