Where models

Advancing mathematical and computational science into tools for real-world challenges

The MOBS Lab explores how complex systems evolve, from epidemics and information diffusion to collective behavior and the evolution of science. We develop quantitative methods and computational tools that integrate theory with data to explain, forecast, and inform decisions across domains.
The laboratory, part of the Network Science Institute, is directed by Alessandro Vespignani and has joint affiliations with the Department of Physics, the Department of Health Sciences and the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University.
